As part of the 63rd National Maritime Day celebrations, the Badminton Boys Singles tournament was successfully conducted at KMSME on 31st March 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from cadets representing various maritime institutes, highlighting both competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

The matches throughout the day were marked by intense rallies, strategic gameplay, and high levels of endurance, making the tournament both engaging and competitive. Representing Euro Tech Maritime Academy (EMA), Sajid Khan from the GP Rating course emerged as a standout performer, demonstrating exceptional skill, agility, and focus.

In a thrilling final match, Sajid Khan secured the Gold Medal after a closely fought contest. He won with a final score of 21–17 and 22–20, showcasing remarkable composure and determination under pressure. His consistent performance and tactical play proved decisive in clinching the title.
